Fusion Support Services – An interview with Marianne Reeves
Fusion are a leading BMC Support Partner with the largest dedicated support team in Europe offering 24×7, global support that goes beyond a basic break-fix service. Our BMC Support Services are modelled on our customers’ requirements and can be tailored to ensure all areas of the service are managed, including the underlying database technologies.
We would like to introduce Marianne Reeves from our Support Team. Marianne is a very knowledgeable individual with over 20 years’ experience on BMC Remedy with strong expertise on ITSM applications.
“I have been at Fusion for 11 years now and work mainly on BMC ITSM Applications. I got started in this field 20 years ago when the Internet Provider Helpdesk that I worked on adopted Remedy ARS as their ticketing tool. I became the administrator of that system and it all took off from there. The product suite has evolved so much since the early days and is still evolving and it’s good to be able to be a part of this as it is a constant learning curve.”
Below are a few more facts about Marianne that you probably didn’t know. We hope you enjoy getting to know her a bit more!
Where did you grow up?
I grew up in Thurso, Caithness, as far north on the UK mainland as you can go without falling off the edge. While living here, I was quite isolated in terms of having to travel a 240 mile round trip to Inverness for chain store shopping or even a McDonald’s, however it was also an awesome place to grow up. Nowhere in Thurso is more than 10 minutes away from the sea and on the horizon and you can see the Orkney islands and the Old Man of Hoy. We were surrounded by white sandy beaches with turquoise water that would not look out of place in the Caribbean. It doesn’t really get dark during the Summer and while it does get dark early in Winter you are treated to some amazing light shows from the aurora borealis. Anyone thinking of visiting Scotland should also think about venturing further north than Inverness and see for themselves what a wonderful place the Highlands is.
What do you like to do outside of work?
I like to play video games and read and plan my next holiday.
If you could have any other career, what would it be?
I have already had another career, being a mum to my 4 grown up children, but if I had to choose another career I would like to work on the Turtle conservation project in Cape Verde. I would volunteer there for a few weeks at a time if I could afford to retire.
What has been your greatest achievement to date?
My four children, also being able to start a career at the age of 36 was a great achievement for me.
Do you have any pet hates?
Eating noises and food on sticks.
What quality do you most appreciate in yourself?
Honesty and kindness.
What quality do you most appreciate in others?
Honesty.
If you could have any superpower, what would it be?
To be able to warp to where ever I wanted or needed to be without having to endure long journeys.
What part of your work is most meaningful/rewarding?
Happy customers.
How would your boss describe you?
I’m sure he’d say I’m a dependable person – someone who he can rely on to get the job done!
